FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Straight answers to what teams ask us before starting a project.
- What does Metall do?
- Metall is a technology studio based in Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq. We build custom software, business automation, and web and mobile applications, and we run digital marketing for the clients we build for. We also develop our own products.
- Where is Metall located, and do you work with clients outside Erbil?
- Our team is in Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq. We work with clients across Iraq and the wider region, and we work remotely with clients anywhere. Meetings can be held in person in Erbil or online.
- Which languages do you work in?
- We work in English, Arabic, Kurdish Sorani, and Kurdish Kurmanji. Project documentation, interfaces, and support can be delivered in any of these languages.
- How do projects start, and how long do they take?
- Every project starts with a scoping conversation, after which we send a written proposal covering scope, timeline, and pricing. Timelines depend on scope and are confirmed in that proposal before any work begins.
- How much does a project cost?
- Pricing is quoted per project, based on the scope agreed in writing. We do not charge hidden costs beyond what the proposal states. Contact us with an outline of what you need and we will send a written quote.
- How quickly do you respond to enquiries?
- We reply to every enquiry within one business day. Note that in the Kurdistan Region the weekend falls on Friday and Saturday.
- Who owns the software you build for us?
- Unless agreed otherwise in writing, ownership of custom work transfers to the client on full payment. Metall retains rights to its own products, tools, and pre-existing materials.
- Do you support and maintain what you build?
- Yes. Ongoing support and maintenance are arranged as part of the engagement. The specific terms are set out in the proposal for your project.
